Shhhhhhhh.... mums the word!

Please keep this quiet... This is a very special card for one of the very special people in my life.  This is another scrap lift from "Pinterest."  I seem to get a lot of great ideas from there.  The creation of this card was not without a few headaches and redo's.  I wanted it perfect and ended up doing it twice and parts of it more than that.  All the papers were from my stash.  I blinged the butterflies (from the Cricut Picturesque" cartridge) with "Viva Pearl Pens and Ice Stickles."  I used the "Cuttlebug Leaves" folder for the upper part and a new punch from "EK Success" on the border that I wrapped with green gingham ribbon from my stash.  I decorated the inside of the envelope with butterflies in "Old Olive and Sahara Sand" ink from "SU."  I'll bet you've even figured out that the person I'm giving this to has a favorite color, green.  Now don't spread it around I want my dear daughter's birthday card to be a big surprise.  Enjoy!

Using Scraps

Good Day everybody!  Sun is shining here on the hill.  The temps are still on the colder side of very chilly.  Browsing "Pinterest" and using scrap papers/cardstock has been high on my to do list this week.  I saw a card on Pinterest that used a great lacy border punch to make rainbow layers on a card and thought the idea had merit.  Looking through my stash of scrap I landed in my vintage paper folder and thought they might work in a layered look.  Do you like it?

Multi-Use Easter card

Hello from wintery western New York.  The weather here has been horrendously cold for the past two weeks.  Needless to say I've had plenty of opportunities to play in my craft cave and browse "Pinterest" for card ideas.

The idea for this card came from "Simplicitybylateblossom.blogspot.com."
I took the basic card and tweaked it to my tastes and ease of construction.  This card and the other five like it will be part of my contribution to the "Cards for Soldiers" group located on the Cricut Message board forum here.  

I used the Cricut Expression to cut the cross and shadow and layered on solid card stock and mylar paper from my stash.  I ran the white matte under the cross through an embossing folder sold at Hobby Lobby from "the Paper Studio." The sentiment was done on my printer. Enjoy!

Somebunny is getting ready for Spring!

I hope you enjoy this Easter card that features the artful image created by talented digital artist Dustin Pike.  The bg paper is an original by me using SU inks and various egg stamps in my collection.  Beats me why I didn't know you were supposed to know all the makers information before you made and a card for the internet. Que sera sera...  The bunny is colored with Copic markers.

Happy Valentine's Day!....WHAT???

So, today is December 21st.  Just four days til Christmas and I'm posting a Valentine's Day card.  I'm sorry, it just flew off the ends of my fingers.  I hope you enjoy my texturized bear and his Valentine's Day messaged heart.  The sentiment is heat embossed with gold SU powder.  The BG paper is from MME "Nostalgia" Fancy Pants, "Love "collection. Colored with Copics. In spite of it being a little early, enjoy!  This card will be a contribution to CFS.

"Copic Boot Camp Miracle!"

Miracle's can happen.  I have just returned from Phoenix, AZ after attending a three day Copic Boot Camp taught by the fabulous Jennifer Dove.  She and all of her assistants were just fantastic giving this class.  The photo below is my version of Jennifer's original boot image.  I hated it while I was coloring and for the first few hours afterward (when I dared to look).  Now, it's growing on me more and more, little by little.  There may still be hope for me and Copics.  If you ever get the chance to check out Jennifer's blog Just4FunCrafts.blogspot.com , please do and you can tell Jenn "Gramma" sent you.  She knows me pretty well.  Hope all of you have a wonderful day and a better day tomorrow.  Enjoy my work.
