Happy Valentine's Day!....WHAT???

So, today is December 21st.  Just four days til Christmas and I'm posting a Valentine's Day card.  I'm sorry, it just flew off the ends of my fingers.  I hope you enjoy my texturized bear and his Valentine's Day messaged heart.  The sentiment is heat embossed with gold SU powder.  The BG paper is from MME "Nostalgia" Fancy Pants, "Love "collection. Colored with Copics. In spite of it being a little early, enjoy!  This card will be a contribution to CFS.

"Copic Boot Camp Miracle!"

Miracle's can happen.  I have just returned from Phoenix, AZ after attending a three day Copic Boot Camp taught by the fabulous Jennifer Dove.  She and all of her assistants were just fantastic giving this class.  The photo below is my version of Jennifer's original boot image.  I hated it while I was coloring and for the first few hours afterward (when I dared to look).  Now, it's growing on me more and more, little by little.  There may still be hope for me and Copics.  If you ever get the chance to check out Jennifer's blog Just4FunCrafts.blogspot.com , please do and you can tell Jenn "Gramma" sent you.  She knows me pretty well.  Hope all of you have a wonderful day and a better day tomorrow.  Enjoy my work.

CAFS (Clean & fairly Simple)

Pinterest has inspired me yet again.  This card is actually a compilation of two cards shown on their CAS board.  I hope you like it. Four cards like it are part of my contribution to Cards for Soldiers.

Amazing Pinterest

Have you had a chance to create your Pinterest.com account?  If not, I'd recommend you do.  There is a fountain of wonderful knowledge bases in so many subjects as to make it very worth your while. I searched CAS (clean & simple) cards recently and "pinned"  a few of the cards shown.  This is my adaptation of one of those.  I made (4) of these for the "Cards for Soldiers" group on the Cricut Message Board under"General."   If you are interested in contributing to this great organization give it a look see.  I hope you like my card.

Does your work area look like this?

As you can see, I am not a neat freak in my craft room when projects are going.  But, did you also notice the tags in the ring binder???  One of a kind Copic color genius Jennifer Dove is creating these tags and sharing them with her blog followers.  If you love your copics, but hate to make color groups this is a once in a lifetime chance to have some help.  I love Jenn's project and love Jenn for her willingness to share with the rest of the copic using world.  Here is a close up of my first page (1 of 11 so far). Click on her name to check out her blog.

Coloring practice... and I need a lot!

I hope you enjoy this get-well card for the "Cards for Soldiers" group I contribute to regularly.  This image from an unknown origin is colored with Copic Markers.  I distressed the edges and mounted on plain cardstock from my stash.  The sentiment is from "The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Castle Shoppe" on Facebook.  This is an A2 size card.

We finally got our camera back. Thank goodness!

Peek a Boo Penguin

OK folks... I read the rules.. and this card is inspired by Christmas.  The Peek a Boo Penguin is from "The Stamping Botique." I colored this image with Copic markers, and used a MS branch punch for the surrounding greenery.  The sentiment is from Cardz TV stamps. The BG papers are from my stash.  This is a 5"X7" card.

As I mentioned in a previous post, my camera is still out for repair.  Scanned images just don't do it justice.  Enjoy!

OOPS! The Cutest Witch!

Sorry TSB... I guess I just didn't see that the challenge was Christmas themed.  Please remove me from your challenge.

The Stamping Boutique (aka: TSB) has started a challenge page again.  So, I purchased this cute little witch digi and decided to have a go at it.  She is colored with Copic markers and the background is done with chalk. The image is scanned, so it doesn't look as good as it does IRL. In particular, the sentiment, which is really blurry.  Wouldn't you know my camera quit on me and is in the shop right now. Hope you like my Halloween card.

Playing with backgrounds...

So, I was working on Christmas cards for the "Cards for Soldiers" organization I contribute to, and decided to try doing a custom background paper for a card.  I used a  (SU) fir tree stamp on white (WM) cardstock.  I had several stamp pads in different shades of green and randomly stamped the cardstock. Added a scalloped border and sentiment embossed with "Zing" Rouge embossing powder and brushed the edges with some TH Fired Brick distress ink. Hope you like it.

Dustin's Christmas in July 2013...

...is available in his store (here).  This cute teddy is only one of the 50 adorable images in this release.  I've colored this image with Copic markers.  The base paper is from my stash and the pattern papers from MME "All is bright" collection. The poinsettias are metal die cuts, but I can't remember which company I got them from, sorry :-(   Enjoy!

Chase your Dreams...

I sort of scrap-lifted this card from the internet and I do not remember which forum.  I found the same or a similar die on the "My Favorite Things" website and had to have it.  This is the resulting card.  I used the die to cut a feather from the brown card stock and then cut another feather from some pattern paper from my stash and this is the result. I hope you enjoy it.

Red, White and Blue.....

Time for another challenge from the Doodle Dragon Studios DT and its host and creative inspiration Dustin Pike.  You can read his blog and join the challenge here  Join in by clicking on the "Pike's Playground" button.  This is my contribution of a flag bearing Dudley.  This involved some paper piecing that is totally new to me.  I think it turned out okay, although a little sloppy.   Enjoy!.

I made the background paper design....

...using a chevron border stamp from "somewhere."  Tim Holtz Distress Inks provided the color.  The jar and label are from a stamp collection of Mary's at Cardz TV.  The objects on the card are popped up on Stampin' Up dimensionals. The red "candies" are from "The Royal Castle Shop" on Facebook. This card was made for Cards for Soldiers.

Family of Nuts!

Here is another of Dustin Pike's adorable images for Operation Write Home titled "Family of Nuts."  You can pick up this image and many more at the Doodle Dragon Studios Store (here). I paper pieced the nuts over the squirrel for a little added dimension to the card making sure to keep the profile low for international mailing.  The images were colored with Copic markers.
Enjoy!

Bottoms up available at Doodle Dragon Studios

Dustin Pike has released another image in his June series.  If you missed the first few you can get them here .
The Design Team has posted a few of these images on Dustin's blog for your enjoyment.  Check them out here.
I played with this image a little bit.  I am not very good at glass with Copics yet, but there is always a chance Jennifer Dove can get me straight at her boot camp in November.  Check out Jenn's Copic Bootcamp on her blog here.
Please enjoy my card!

Just a little something......

Hello followers and drifters into my space.  I'll be the first to admit I needed to put a newer picture up on my blog.... Love, love, love Dustin Pike... really do not care at all for pastels.  I'm a vibrant color kinda gal! This is a card I made for "Cards for Soldiers."  Really great organization that is always looking for new contributors.
I apologize for the blotchy image.. my scanner bed needs a good cleaning, but I haven't found the right product yet.  Any suggestions?
Enjoy your weather wherever you are... its not like you can change it anyway.

Warm wishes and big Hugz,

B is for Boy at Pike's Playground!

Greetings followers!  Still lots of snow here in western New York.  Not too snowy to lock myself in my cave and come up with a BOY card.  This may be stretching it a bit, but I'm sure the rest of Dustin's design team has it right on his blog at http://dustinpike.blogspot.com.  If you do see image(s) that you must have you can purchase them at Dustin's on-line store at www.doodledragonstudios.com.  Enjoy my contribution to the "BOY" challenge.

A little Behind....

This should have been posted Monday... Sorry Boss!  Enjoy Doodle Dragon Studios (aka Dustin Pike)' newest release of  Valentine Voodoo Dolls.  I'm sure one of these images will please some lucky guy or gal on your "Valentine send to:" list.  This is my contribution for the design team.

I've also been working on a stamp organizing project thanks to my great friend and fellow card crafter "Glitterbabe."  She did a rework of her stamps recently and I thought.. "Wow, what a great idea!."  Trust me people, I did not know I had that many stamps to organize.  But I did learn something... just because something sounds like a great idea... it may not be a great idea for me...EGAD!  Hopefully I'll get the project finished by spring thaw.

"Winter Wonder" @ Pike's Playground

Happy 2013 loyal blog followers... I considered making some resolutions, but then I woke up out of that dream and came to my senses.  Whew! Another disaster avoided.
The challenge at "Pike's Playground" is a "Thank You"  themed card or project using a Dustin Pike image from Doodle Dragon Studios.  Start the New Year by giving a sincere "thank you" for all the wonderful gifts you've been blessed to receive.
This is my submission as part of Dustin's design team.
